What are your thoughts on using the Buddipole for QRP using a go-box. Dose anyone have or use one?

Buddipoles are cool and they do work. But yeah, a lot of $$ for what is really just a dipole. On top of that, you need to spend extra for the mast and all the other stuff needed to make it a true "go box" antenna.

I made my own version from some mobile whips, a DJ speaker tripod, and PVC pipe. It's not as slick and not as portable as I'd like, but I have a complete package for less than what the basic Buddipole without the goodies costs.

Bottom line: Very nice, if you have the $

Ya, the cost is what has me sitting here just looking at it and wondering if its worth it. The Buddistick is cheaper and looks like it will work just as good. Been watching the YouTube vids.

Had one, sold it. It works OK, just not great for the money. If you could get it up 1/2 wavelength in the air it would probably do a lot better, but then it would not be a portable. This field day we all got showed up by a Tarheel II on a tripod at 10'. Live and learn....
