 Check out this video and tell me what you guys think of this antenna.  I think it might be a good use for a backpack style of set up.  Not something I would use every day with my HT,  but definitely would come in handy in emergencies.

I would be very concerned with the strength of the antenna connection to the h/t.  Other than that, might be a good idea in some scenarios.
