indeeed!

if it try to use it with NiMhs in the battery case -and a tone is used- it makes a low whining noise, which can be heard on the other end.
And as luck has it, today that i set up to record it on both ends, (TX, RX) it does not do it.  :o

The thing i have seen before, with a fieldr epeater we set with my club runnign on 12V batteries.

Now i know there is no way of troubleshooting it, but it would eb good to know he why of it.

spacecase0:
my guess is that the radio is not getting quite enough voltage as the NiMh batteries are lower voltage than alkaline
I have a radio that does a similar thing because it needs just a bit more voltage to run correctly

AD:
Interesting GM.  Is this reported else where or are you "special"  :o
