radio failure
« on: February 22, 2020, 08:08:19 PM »
anyone else notice just how badly the radios from china can fail ?
most of the time they will just break, ok, no issues with that.
but I have had a few that broke in the most flaky way
no transmit on one side every so often, and no receive on the other one, but not all the time
2 radios not from the same maker failed in 20 hours of each other after years of use...
quite odd, and quite hard to figure out what happened

makes me wonder about the programming of the chips they are made from,
maybe some sort of power up cycles break them ?

I can say i have not had good luck with the Chinese radios. For my money the cheap Yaesu, while not as cheap as the Chinese ones are worth every penny.
The more I learn, the less I know.
