JT-65 Digs WAY down into the mud

(1/2) > >>

WA4STO:
Here's a .jpg of a JT-65 contact I just made on 15 meters.

What's interesting to the newcomers among us is that there is no trace whatsoever of VE3IYA's signal.  Nor could it be heard by ear.

The software was designed to dig way down in the (unhearable) noise and dig out anything that meets the criteria of a contact.

Another interesting thing is that not a thing had to be typed, spoken, or keyed for the whole conversation to occur.  Using the mouse, you simply double click on the on-screen message and the software does the rest.

Is it cool or what?

Just started playing with JT65 on 160 meters and wanting to learn more about JT9 that I hear will dig even deeper !  Recently put up and endfed sloper on 160 and JT65 is doing fairly well on it so far !

I just started PSK in August but traveling for work has kept me off the radio for 1.5 months.

Imhave JT65 program loaded but not fired it up yet.

The more I play with JT65, but the more I think "whats the point" ?  You can only exchange simple things like signal reports, RRR, 73 etc etc, kind of useless for real comms !
