Ok one more novice question, since i finally bought me a crimper and i have started assembling a stock of connectors, not only for building the few cables that I need, but having some extras for just in case. here goes....
what do you think of those connectors that are right angle (rg58 and Rg174 size).
I kinda like the one I have, it allows for some flex/tension relief, and i can reuse it (with new crimp sleeves)
the window ones are kinda the same thing
and BTW, I have also bothered the group with the clamp on ones some time ago. kinda want to have some for "in the field" assembly*
So....are there serious performance reasons NOT to use them?
* if you care to read a story behind it,
I once moved to a foresaken place for a seasonal job and as luck may have it, I had a broken connection on my mobile cable the first day there. No spares and no tools either. I had to put the mobile antenna on the HT and get the help of a friendly local HAM.
Since them i carry spares and two soldering irons (12V and 220V) in the car.
