HS,
I really could use your help. We have two border collie pups that we raised. The bitch and sire are both out of good lines. We had to put the bitch down though. Long story. Anyhow, the pups were born the day after Thanksgiving and we have got rid of all but two. I was only going to keep one, but the Hostile Native decided that sense I have bad luck with borders, I better hedge my bets and keep two. I've tried older dogs, but my personality doesnt mesh too well with borders and it worked out to where we got a bred bitch, so we are trying this route. I'm loud and boisterous and the borders I've had in the past were always on the shy or timid side. I always had good luck with heelers and head dogs. Border collies are more laid back than I am used too.
Why dont you come out this summer and you can hang out here at the ranch. The Natives uncle still trains BC's for competition, but he is too old to come up and stay and he lives too far away. As of right now I have the largets bunch of angora goats in Wyoming, but I dont have many. I am trying to get the cash together to get a bunch more bought. Im planning on going to OK and Tx to visit family this spring and I want to stop by and pick up some better seedstock to start improving my herd and the fleece quality. Also, there is another guy I deal with who will sell me the majority of his herd and if all goes well, I will be buying them. My goal is to be the largest angora breeder in the NW US. I'm pretty close now. Maybe a couple of people in front of me. If all goes well, I will get the contracts and will be able to justify a sheepwagon. That will look cool, a sheepwagon with a bog antenna and a solar panel.
Wow, we got way off topic. LOL. All of this though, is one of the reasons that I wanted to get into HAM radio.
Tex
p.s.
I was serious about coming out if you want. We are kinda hermits too. The closest town is 11 miles away, but it is small, small. The next closest town with any size is 25 miles away. Lots of wide open country.
